Project Overview
Thoughts in My Head is a typographic exploration that is coming from my interst in combining self-expression with design. My goal was to translate different thoughts I’ve had in my life to something more tangible, using type as a visual diary. I wanted to create something personal but also relatable.

Problem & Opportunities
The challenge I had, was exploring how typography can convey these thoughts that are raw and unfiltered, in a visual appealing way, while maintaining a strong identity.
I gave myself and opportunity to push typography beyond function, and turn it into a medium of self-expression, much like handwriting but with an intentional design language.

Research
I drew inspiration from zines, hand-lettering, and experimental typography often seen in punk aesthetics and independent publishing.
I explored how distortion, repetition, and asymmetry can evoke different emotions. I also looked into how different fonts and layouts impact readability and the way viewers interpret written words beyond their literal meaning.

Outcome
Through layering, deconstructing, and rearranging words, I found a balance between expressive freedom and a coherent design. Experimenting with different typefaces, weights, and hierarchies allowed me to create something for myself while also pushing my typographic skills beyond its functional role, transforming it into a visual representation of fragmented thoughts.
The result is a collection of designs that bridge personal expression with structured design thinking. Thoughts in My Head successfully demonstrates how typography can serve as both a means of communication and an artistic exploration, proving that design can be deeply personal AND universally resonant.
